HITBSecConf 2008 Dubai
Bye KL! Helloooooooo, Dubai :D
Our flight from KLIA, Sepang was at 0200 on the 13th of April via Emirates. There’s only 1 word in my dictionary that fits to describe Emirates in total, COOL! Their in-flight entertainment are simply amazing, with their touchscreen console, over 30 latest movies to choose from which doesn’t includes musics and TV popular TV series made available to everyone (even IT Crowd was on the list!!) The seats are pretty much more comfortable than Malaysia Airlines (adjustable headrest r0cks!) and the foods are just, nyummy. They’d serve you the whole tiny can if you asked for Pepsi or Coke or beers for that matter, with ice :D We arrived in Dubai at around 0400-ish, had to took a long 30 minutes bus transit to the International terminal because our flight landed on the far right of the airport due to heavy traffic. All of us when thru custom checks without any problem at all, thank god for that. We arrived at Sheraton Four Points around 7am, had our breakfast at the hotel’s coffee house and went to bed till around 12, then off we go to Sheraton by The Creek to setup the area for training classes. (lots of crimping, cramps your fingers :S)
Training Day ONE & TWO
There are 2 more training classes for this year’s SecConf Dubai as opposed to just 3 training classes when we were here last year. Attendees registered for classes are somewhat quite good but the real turn out are much more lesser than the amount registered to attend for trainings. It beats the hell out of me wondering why people would rather pay a substantial amount of cash for training classes, and not attending them. Well most of them are sponsored by their respective companies but then again, that’s just not right eh? =\ Again, I’m assigned to help Sheeraj Shah’s class just in case he needed help on anything but eventhough his class being the biggest class among others, all of his students really seems to be coping quite well with his teachings. Few hours after training day 2 ended, all of us teared down the classes to make way for tomorrow’s conference, making sure every booth has a wired internet point (albeit there’s open wireless made available by HITB to them), made sure CtF images runs as it should be.
